BRANDLENS GUIDE

From your first scan
to your next article.

A practical guide to understanding your visibility, acting on recommendations, and managing your account.

$1.90 One-Time Trial

Try BrandLens with a one-time USD $1.90 payment: 1 Brand Scan, the Full Visibility Report, SEO Analysis, and 1 AI-generated Article. There is no recurring charge.

Sign in, open Pricing, and complete trial Checkout. Dashboard shows trial availability after payment confirmation. One trial is available per email, permanently; active Starter, Growth, and Agency subscribers are not eligible.

The trial gives one scan and one article in total. These allowances do not reset. After using an allowance, choose Starter, Growth, or Agency to continue that activity. Subscription guidance below applies to ongoing paid plans.

Getting started

BrandLens brings available website, search, social, review, and competitor signals into a visibility report. Use the report to identify improvements, then create article drafts to support your content work.

1. Public website
2. Analysis
3. Visibility report
4. Improve & write
  1. 1
Open Create account and enter your name, email, and password.
  2. 2
Use Sign in with the same email and password. Your secure session keeps you signed in.
  3. 3
Open Pricing, compare Starter, Growth, and Agency, and complete Stripe Checkout for your selected plan.
  4. 4
Return to Dashboard, check your subscription, and start your first scan.

Subscriptions renew on the billing schedule shown at Checkout. Monthly allowances follow your subscription period, rather than resetting at the start of each calendar month.

Running a brand scan

  1. 1
Open Scan from the navigation or choose New Scan on Dashboard.
  2. 2
Enter the public website URL. For example, https://example.com.
  3. 3
Start the scan. BrandLens checks your account eligibility and the submitted URL.
  4. 4
Wait while the scan moves from pending to processing. Timing depends on the site and data sources; keep the status page open or return through Dashboard.
  5. 5
When the scan completes, open its report. If it fails, review the status before attempting a new scan.

Website analysis checks signals such as titles, descriptions, headings, HTTPS, mobile viewport configuration, and load timing. Search visibility uses available search data. The report also includes social, reviews, news, and competitor-related categories.

Only public websites are eligible. Private, internal, local, and unsafe URLs are intentionally blocked to protect internal services.

Understanding reports

The overall visibility score combines category scores on a 0–100 scale. Use it as a starting point for investigation, alongside the underlying evidence and recommendations. It is not a guarantee of traffic, search rank, or sales.

Website score
On-page and technical signals, including page metadata, HTTPS, viewport configuration, and load time.
Search score
Available search presence signals such as indexed-page estimates and knowledge-panel presence.
Social score
Available social presence information. Missing collection data can limit this category.
Reviews score
Review presence and available sentiment fields. Do not treat a default neutral value as a measured customer opinion.
News score
A category for available news mentions. A displayed value alone does not establish comprehensive media monitoring.
Competitor gap score
A competitor-related indicator. Read it with the competitor analysis; it is not necessarily a percentage or a literal subtraction between two brands.

High, medium, and low scores: higher values generally indicate stronger detected signals. Middle values suggest room to improve; lower values deserve investigation. Avoid assuming a low score always means poor performance: source coverage matters.

Recommendations: choose a specific action, make the change on your site, and use a later scan to review the result. For example, a missing meta description is an actionable website improvement. Competitor analysis provides additional context when available; verify the suggested competitors are relevant to your market.

AI article generator

  1. 1
Open a completed report created by your own account.
  2. 2
Choose Generate Articles. BrandLens proposes article ideas using the report context and generates drafts, subject to your remaining allowance.
  3. 3
Open a draft from Dashboard’s Articles tab. Review the title, content, keyword, readability, and SEO details.
  4. 4
Choose Edit to change the title, HTML content, focus keyword, meta title, or meta description. Preview your changes, then Save.
  5. 5
Use Copy HTML to move the reviewed content into your publishing tool. Publishing is a separate step you perform there. A saved publishing URL, when present, is shown as View Published.
Focus keyword
The main topic phrase used to guide the draft and keyword analysis. Example: brand visibility.
Meta title
A concise search title. The editor allows up to 60 characters.
Meta description
A short page summary. The editor allows up to 160 characters.
Readability & SEO
Generation analyzes word count, readability, and SEO signals. Readability is a guide, not a quality guarantee; do not assume all analysis recalculates after manual edits.

Plan & usage

Use Dashboard to review your current plan, scans, and saved articles. Subscription status tells you whether billing is eligible for new work. Scans used and articles used describe consumption within a billing period; remaining values describe the allowance available before its next reset. Unlimited scans does not mean unlimited articles.

Check the current period’s renewal/end date in your billing information. A renewal/reset applies to a new billing period, not a browser refresh. If usage or renewal details are unavailable in your dashboard, do not infer remaining allowance from the number of visible reports; open Manage Billing to check your subscription.

Use Pricing to choose a plan and Manage Billing to manage an existing subscription. Review the price, billing interval, and any change details before confirming in Stripe.

Account & billing

Stripe Checkout handles subscription checkout. Review the selected plan, recurring charge, and billing interval there. A completed redirect alone may not immediately update your account; allow the billing update to arrive and refresh Dashboard.

Manage Billing opens Stripe’s customer portal for your account. It provides the payment, invoice, and subscription controls configured for BrandLens. Review any plan-change or cancellation details in the portal before confirming.

Renewal and cancellation: subscriptions renew automatically according to their billing schedule. Canceling at period end schedules cancellation rather than ending access immediately. Access continues only while the subscription remains eligible and the paid period has not ended.

Signing out clears your session; it does not cancel a subscription. Use the billing portal to request cancellation.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Why can’t I start another scan?

Check that your subscription is active and your scan allowance has not been used. Starter includes 5 scans per month; Growth includes 25; Agency has unlimited scans. An invalid or inaccessible URL can also stop a scan.

Why can’t I generate another article?

Generation needs a report belonging to your account, an eligible paid subscription, and remaining article allowance. Each generated article counts individually; one generation request may produce multiple drafts.

Why do I need an active subscription?

New scans and AI generation are paid features. Signing in or creating an account does not activate a subscription. Choose a plan and complete Checkout, then return to your dashboard.

When do my usage limits reset?

Allowances follow your subscription billing period, not the first day of the calendar month. Use the renewal date in your billing information. A delayed payment or billing update can delay access; refreshing the page does not reset usage.

Why is my scan still processing?

A scan depends on the target website and external data services. Network delays can make it take longer. Return to Dashboard and reopen the scan to check its status. Avoid repeatedly starting new scans while one is pending. A failed scan cannot be assumed to have completed a report.

Why was my URL rejected?

Use a valid public HTTP or HTTPS website URL, such as https://example.com. Check spelling and remove credentials. Local, private, internal, or otherwise unsafe destinations are not eligible scan targets.

Can BrandLens scan internal or private URLs?

No. Private networks, localhost, internal services, and cloud metadata endpoints must be blocked for security. Use the publicly accessible website instead; do not attempt to work around URL validation.

How do I manage billing?

Open Dashboard and choose Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal. Use Pricing to choose a plan. If payment has failed, update payment details in the portal and check the resulting subscription status.

How do I log out?

Use Sign out in the navigation. This clears the BrandLens session cookie. Sign in again when you want to access your reports and articles.

Where are previous scans and articles?

Open Dashboard. Recent Scans contains your previous scans and links to their reports; the Articles tab lists saved drafts. Sign in to the account that created them. Another account cannot access your owned reports or articles.
